Obituary of Flora Kathryn Reid

October 8, 1934-February 14, 2025

It is with deep sorrow, and immense gratitude for a life so full, that we share the passing of our matriarch Flora Kathryn Reid (nee Slaven). Flora passed away on Friday, February 14, 2025, in her 91^st year, surrounded by the love of her children. A love so pure and well nurtured will carry them through until they meet again. At 12:36 am on Valentine’s Day she joined their father, Donald Ray Reid, to begin the next stage in the journey of their eternal love.  Flora was the daughter of Harry Slaven Senior and Florence (Heffernan). Predeceased by her loving husband, Donald Ray Reid.  She will be forever missed by the families of Donald Richard Reid (Lorene), Peter Robert Reid (Bev), Susan Elaine Unger (Wayne), Carolyn Anne Fingland (Brian), Kathryn Lisa Zieman (Dale) and Melinda Jane Reid-Gillam (Scot). Grandma, Nana, Grams to Mark, Brock, Adam, Stephanie, Brooke, Lindsay, Kyle, Nicole, Derek, Brianne, Andrea, Lisa, Jason, Kristen, Zachary (predeceased), Sydney and Mia. Great Gramma, Grams, Nano to 27 beloved great grandchildren. Predeceased by her brothers Bill, Joe, Harry Junior and sisters Mary, Mary, Bernice, Ruth, and Joanie. Including her brother-in-law Howard, and sisters-in-law Helen, Edna, and Orma and her long time friend Diane Brennan.

Family and friends will be received on Friday, February 21, 2025 between the hours of 6:00 - 8:00p.m. in M.J. Smith & Son Funeral Home.   Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday,  February 22, 2025 at 11:00a.m. in St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Deseronto.   Interment to be held at a later date.

Donations to Centre of Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), John M. Parrot Centre and St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church (Deseronto) in Flora’s honour would be appreciated.
