Theda Maracle Obituary

Theda Maracle

February 7, 1930- October 30,2025

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our mother, grandmother, great grandmother, Theda Maracle on Thursday, October 30, 2025, in her 96th year. Loving wife of the late William L. Maracle. Daughter of the late Hugh and Ethel Mae Brant. Cherished mom of Gary (Lisa), Barbara (Bill), Donna (Tom), Brenda (Brian), Tim (Pam), Warren (the late Jacqueline) and Joe. Predeceased by son William (the late Dianne).  Granny to James, Olivia, Chris (Emily), Ian, Tyler, Elliot (Suzanne), Brennan (Kohe), Melody (Mike), Liam (Julia), Keleigh (Alec), Vincent (Alyssa), Georgia (John) Marcy (Pierre) Natasha (Ed), Nicole (Alex), Johnny (Megan), Jillian (Ron). GG (great Granny) to Theodora, William, Anna, Haydn, Emerson, Zoey, Barrett, Eijah, Charlotte, Oliver, Aria, Aió:ha, Benjamin, Roxanne, Don, Eila and Reed. She loved her family and was very proud of all of us. Dear sister of Loral Sheridan (Betty) Brant and sister in law of Joyce McIntee and Ada Kring. Predeceased by her siblings, Russell, Cameron, Bernice, Marion, Audrey, Elaine, Murrell, and Florence. Theda will always be remembered by her many nieces, nephews, All Saints church community, bingo and restaurant friends.

Theda was a fiercely independent, kind, generous woman, who was loyal to her family and friends. She had a wonderful sense of humor and memory, which made her a great storyteller. She knew so many people, and their children, etc, she could draw you an invisible line which would allow you to make connections of current day people and places she was talking about. There was always a radio going in her home as she loved music. She loved shoes, purses and jewelry. A fun day was going into jewelry stores and trying on expensive rings.   She was a seamstress in Belleville before she was married.  While a homemaker for many years, she sewed for her family then eventually returned to the workforce as a seamstress for Four B Manufacturing. In her retirement she enjoyed some travelling and lunches with her sisters and girlfriends, quilting and visiting her growing family. Her favorite routine in later years was her daily breakfast out by herself, her family and new friends, many whom, would treat her on occasion.  She drove herself to bingo most afternoons and was excited to see her bingo chums, under the watchful eye of her good friend, Wendy. Once home, she would put on her jammies, make her dinner, then settle in to watch  ‘Wheel of Fortune’, mostly with Warren, followed by the unsolved mysteries or “killer shows” as she called them. Most of all she loved visitors, especially her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, often with someone bringing her an iced coffee and plain donut.

She will be missed but never forgotten, as love never expires.  May she rest in peace.

In keeping with Theda’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place at the Queen Anne Parish Centre, All Saints Church, 1295 Ridge Road, TMT, on Wednesday,  November 5, 2025 at 11:00 am until 1:00 pm.  Funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm.
