Maracle, Richard Earl

Passed away peacefully with his family by his side on April 23, 2026 at the Lennox & Addington County General Hospital in Napanee.  Son of the late Harold (Mary) Maracle and Shirley Maracle.  Loving husband of Diane (nee Bentley).  Cherished dad of Corissa Khan (David), Rheana Maracle (Shaun) and Chancelor Maracle (Laura, “Frankie”).  Treasured gramps of Ryker Khan.  Rick will be deeply missed by his sister Sandra Green (Dave), stepsister Anna, his father and mother-in-law, Larry and Dolores Bentley, his brother-in-law Alan (Kim), his sister-in-law Shannon, all of his nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.  He is predeceased by his brother David and brother-in-law Dan.  Rick dedicated over 30 years as a correctional officer, where he was known for treating everyone with kindness and respect. He was also an exceptional cook, always ensuring others were well fed before serving himself.  Above all, Rick will be remembered for his unwavering love and devotion to his family. He deeply adored the love of his life, Diane, with whom he shared 39 years of marriage. He had a special love for children, and in his eyes, his children and grandson could do no wrong. His children will always remember his ability to keep an endless supply of junk food on hand, along with the gentle way he encouraged them to challenge themselves and try new things.  Rick was known for his great sense of humour and his love of a variety of music, wrestling, old movies, cartoons, and Marvel superheroes, which he especially enjoyed sharing with his children. Some of his happiest moments were spent on adventures with Diane and the kids. He especially looked forward to their annual camping trips, as well as visits to Canada’s Wonderland, Niagara Falls, and the CNE. He was always the first to join every ride, smiling the whole way through.  A harmless prankster, Rick brought fun and laughter wherever he went. When he entered a room, he brought with him a sense of calm, a twinkle in his eye, and an energy that lifted those around him. His easygoing nature meant he was always up for anything, and everyone shared in the joy. Rick touched the lives of all who knew him and will be deeply missed.   A Memorial Gathering will be held on Friday, May 1, 2026 at 1:30p.m. in All Saints Hall, 1295, Ridge Road, TMT.  For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to the Huntington’s Society or the Lennox & Addington Hospital Palliative Care Unit in memory of Rick.
