Passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family, on Sunday, July 26, 2026, in her 90th year.  Sarah was the beloved daughter of the late Benjamin and Nellie Brant and the cherished wife of the late Donald G. Brant.  She was the cherished and loving mother to Rick of Tyendinaga, Norma (Marvin) of Tyendinaga, Darryl (Kelly) of Shannonville, Clifford (Carolyn) of Belleville, and April (Chris) of Tyendinaga. She was predeceased by her children, John and Sally.  Sarah is lovingly remembered by her siblings Donna Crouse, Danny Brant, and David "Duke" Brant. She was predeceased by her siblings Allen "Joe" Brant, Roberta Mouck, Michael Brant, Arthur Brant, and Gordon Brant.  She will be deeply missed by her grandchildren,great-grandchildren, great great grandchildren, extended family, the deaf community and all who had the privilege of knowing her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and kindness that will be cherished for generations.  The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Tyendinaga Home and Community Care for their many years of compassionate care and support, as well as to the Native Women's Association for their kindness and assistance.


Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at M.J. Smith & Son Funeral Home on Thursday, July 30, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home, followed by an interment at Mohawk Pentecostal Cemetery.
