Wow, 83! So glad Mary Lou had many years after her retirement to enjoy her house and flowers. She was the staff member who attended to people on staff who were ill or sad- visiting, phoning to keep in touch etc.

I will never forget Mary Lou. She and my mother, Jean Joki, were best of friends and confidantes throughout my childhood in Timmins. I remember so many good times with Mary Lou. Sharing countless meals. Enjoying a sauna and a swim at the cottage. Mary Lou and my mom taught together at Flora MacDonald, travelled together to places like England, Hawaii, Mexico, Cuba . . . They shopped together, took courses together and continued to maintain a long distance friendship long after leaving Timmins. Sadly, my mom passed in 2012. When I think about my mom, thoughts of Mary Lou are never far behind. Please accept my sincere condolences for your loss. Mary Lou was a lovely person and will be greatly missed.

I knew Mary Lou while she was residing at Briargate. We learned today of her passing. She was always eager to attend recreation events, loved to help out setting up for special occasions and she loved to join in when we baked. I will miss her quiet, gentle ways and her shy laugh. Sending my condolences to your family.

Alberta Jane (Barr) McNutt posted a condolence
Dear Robert, Marion, Marguerite and families;
I am sending condolences on behalf of “the Barr girls” (Mary Ellen, Margaret Ann and Alberta Jane) who all have fond memories of visits with Auntie Margaret and Uncle Jimmy and Uncle Wilf and Uncle Bob. Mary Lou, who was closest in age to my sister Margie, had doll tea party dishes that are clearly etched in my memory. I remember her so well and can almost hear her voice as she played with her cousins while the grownups visited in the house. Maybe those play time influenced all four of us to grow up to be teachers? Please know that we are thinking of you and send regrets that we cannot be with you in Deseronto.
Fondly,
Alberta jane (Barr) McNutt
Margaret Ann (Barr) McFarlane
Mart Ellen (Barr) Beamish
