Obituary of Sharon Hill

Sharon E. Hill, Yontatya’tenhawe,

Passed peacefully on October 2, 2019 in her 67th year.  Surrounded by all of her family at Kingston General Hospital, Sharon began her journey back to her family in the Skyworld.  Sharon will be lovingly missed by husband Garry Hughes; children Nikki (Godwill), Joe (Amy), Sarah (Wayne), step-children Angela, Jason (Sarah), and Bradley (Megan), and adopted daughter Elodie; grandchildren Justice, Aidan, Kai, Cain, Dakota, Pike, Kahyakwas, Yekaronyohs, Wade, Colton, Jackson, Peyton, Karissa, Troy, Cole, Grace, Jordan, and great-grandson Keith; sister Marlene (the late Leeroy), brother George (Sharon) and Granny Froste (Toni).  Sharon is predeceased by her parents Arthur and Mable Hill, and siblings Russell, Ellen, Ann, Gladys, William (Checker), Carol (Peggy), Earl, and Peter.  Sharon has touched the lives of her many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, step-grands and great-grands, friends, and colleagues through the years and will be missed by all. 

Visitation will be held at the Longhouse located at 1344 Ridge Road, Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory, K0K 1X0 beginning Thursday, October 3, 2019 at 6:00 pm and will continue 24 hours/day until Saturday, October 5, 2019 at 11:00 am.  Funeral service to follow at 11:00 am at the Longhouse.  Internment to follow at Christ Church on Church Lane. 

The family asks that donations be made in lieu of flowers to the Tyendinaga Haudenosaunee to support the Longhouse and all they have done for our family and continue to do for our community.  Please contact Jan Hill at turtlegal45@gmail.com for donations.
