He still has a living Brother Harv. He has great grand children too!
There are so many memories, it's very hard to pick just one.
My Mother, Father & I were up at our cottage for a holiday in Bancroft.
Dad had brought the boat up & he decided he would take a drive & pick
a different lake to put the boat in at instead of seeing the same thing in our lake.
Leaving the cottage with the boat on the trailer & we're off. Oh I would say
about 2 and a half miles from the cottage & driving right beside the lake on both
sides of this road, the boat trailer jumped off the car hitch. Not so funny when you're looking
out the back window & see the boat on the trailer fish tailing behind the car.
Dad obviously stops the car & hooks the trailer back on to the car & away we go.
We had a bag of garbage that was talked about before we left the cottage. The bag
could be dropped right off at the dump because we would be passing it to get to the other
lake he had in mind.
Pulling into the dump there was a wooden boat that had been there for ages. Dad pulled up beside it
until he had a clearing to pitch this bag of garbage. He got out of the car & in the boat he grabbed the
garbage & threw it.
A car had pulled in front of him so Dad backed our car up.
Guess what...somebody was behind him & he put the prop of the boat motor right through this guys grill
to his car. After that I think Dad had enough of the boat trip & we went back to the cottage. We all
had a good laugh on the ride back.
Dad was still laughing the next day which was Monday when phoning his insurance company to give them
the information telling them that his boat prop went thru this guys car grill.
