Mare (Marilyn) Ann Brant Karonhyákwas 

December 4,1942 - August 30, 2021

   

With trust in the Lord Jesus with all of her heart, the life partner and wife of 58 years of Bill (Wm J.) Brant, farmers at Tyhaven Farm, Tyendinaga, Ontario died peacefully at home from pancreatic cancer.

 

Mare was the daughter of Clifford and Gladys B. Maracle and is survived by her children Lisa & Rod BrantFrancis, David Brant, and adopted daughter Heather Pham in Melbourne, Australia. Mare’s grandchildren were Adrian (partner Jessica) & Tayla Brant, André & Stephanie Pham and great grandson Lucas Brant. She was Grannie Mare & Tota Mare to many extended family members over the years and loved each one dearly.

 

Mare’s love of the Lord, learning, community service and giving, flowed over into her work & volunteer work as School & Sunday school teacher, with the Firemen’s wives, Mohawk Fair, the Ladies Mohawk Guild,& the Anglican Diocese of Ontario and most especially to her beloved Tyhaven dairy Farm.

 

Mare will be missed dearly by her remaining siblings, Pat Brant, Brenda Asselstine & Bruce Maracle and also by Harv Brant, & Anne Maracle & their children: Andy & Andrew(Shawna), Darren & Melissa, Miranda(Rick) & Tiffaney(Jeremy), Troy, Tanya & family. She will be dearly remembered by remaining aunties, & many cousins, nieces and nephews on the Brant side & grand niece Heather Royal-Brant & family of Denman Island BC.

 

Visitation will be held Friday, September 3,, 2021 between the hours of 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 -9:00 p.m.  The Funeral Service will be held in All Saints Church, 1295 Ridge Road, Tyendinaga on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at 1:00p.m.  with Facebook live streaming for those not able to attend in person. Masks must be worn & social distancing practices will be in effect. Please bring a lawn chair for sitting outside at reception or at the church if necessary. Donations in memory of Mare may be made to the Anglican Parish of Tyendinaga or the Canadian Cancer Society.
