I valued Charlie’s friendship. He was a man of integrity. I met Charlie through Paul—They we’re best buddies. And I soon understood why Paul respected and trusted him so much. The four of us shared many good times as well as some tough times. And of course Charlie was there to help hold me up when I lost Paul.
Charlie just got better over the years. He had more to say and said it; he laughed more easily—I think maybe he just became more comfortable in his own skin.

Miss you, Charlie. For now, though, I am hanging onto an image of you and Paul meeting up, reminiscing, and perhaps planning your next move.
