It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loving aunt, great aunt and cherished friend, Di who passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2023 at the Lennox & Addington County General Hospital in Napanee in her 85th year. Cherished wife of the late Bud Brennan. Daughter of the late Anson and Bernice Lord. Di will be greatly missed by Gerry and Amy Connell who was like a mother to them. Predeceased by her sister Joan (John) Gartland and Carol Donohue. She will always be remembered by her brother-in-law Wally Donohue. Loving Aunt of Betty Ann Tatton (Claude Hubble), Pat (Laurie) Gartland, Ben Gartland, Toni White (Nyle Richmond), Chris Gartland (Crystal), Sean Donohue (Katie) and Tammy Irish (Sean). Diane was loved by so many family and friends including her lifelong best friends Flora Reid and the late Don, R.J. and Shirley Harvey, Helen and Doug Williams, Maddie and the late Wayne Cassidy, Rick and Lorene Reid, Peter and Bev Reid, Susan and Wayne Unger, Carolyn and Brian Fingland, Kathy and Dale Zieman and Melinda and Scot Gillam. The family would like to say a special thank you to Carolyn and Ashley for all of their care and compassion toward Di so she could stay in her own home as long as possible. Family and Friends will be received at Smith & Son Funeral Home, 78 Centre Street, Deseronto on Sunday, February 26, 2023 between the hours of 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Vincent de Paul Church, 203 Dundas Street, Deseronto on Monday, February 27, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow in St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery. For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to Napanee Kitten Rescue or the Lennox & Addington County General Hospital, Napanee, in memory of Di.
