Kennelly, Eileen Sarah (nee Whalen)

Passed away peacefully at the Friendly Manor on August 19, 2023 in her 96th year. Born April 16, 1928 in Belleville, Ontario. Daughter of the late Peter L. Whalen and Margaret M. Gannon. Loving and devoted wife of the late Vincent Kennelly. Treasured mother of Jim (Sandy), John (Theresa), MaryAnne (Mike) Murphy, Catherine (George) Falcon, Claire (Cathy), Peter (Louise), Gerald (Darlene), Vincent (Sue), Christine (late Burnie) Farrell, Shaun (Cindy), Paul (Michele), Kieran (Julia) and Brendan (Donna). Lovingly remembered by her 48 grandchildren and 63 great grandchildren. Survived by her sister, Rita Farrell, and sister-in-law, Wilma Maracle, and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her siblings and their spouses: Doris (Norman) Purvis, Peter (Mary) Whalen, Eugene, Sister Gracia S.P., John (Helen), Michael (Margaret), Marguerite (Marcel) Patenaude, Terrance (Irene), Grace (John Kenny), Fred Farrell, Rosalyn (Ted) McGuinness, Harold and grandson Bradley Murphy. She was a lifelong member of the CWL, #2 Habs fan, a well remembered bread, cinnamon bun and pie maker, and competitive card player. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 23rd between the hours of 7:00-9:00 p.m., and on Thursday, August 24th between the hours of 2:00-4:00 p.m., 7:00-9:00 p.m. at M.J. Smith Funeral Home, Deseronto, Ontario. Funeral Mass will be held August 25th at 1:00 p.m. in Holy Name of Mary Church, Marysville, Ontario. Donations to the Holy Name of Mary Building Fund would be appreciated by the family.
