Suddenly and peacefully at the John M Parrot Centre on Friday, February 19th, 2016 surrounded by family. Irene Whalen born October 23, 1926. Daughter of the late Thomas & Irene Drummey(White). Beloved wife of the late Terry Whalen. Loving mother of Mary Stinson (Brian)of Roblin, Sister Monica Whalen s.p. of Perth, Nick (Jocelyn) of Sharbot Lake, Paul of Deseronto, Anne Marie Whalen-Knapp(Brian), Terry (Cathy) of Napanee. Dear Grandma Irene of Amy Stinson, Ashley Lockridge, Carrie Koopmans, Christopher, Jacob, Meriel, Jared and Megan Whalen. Great Grandma of five. Dear sister of Mary Drummey, Patricia Roach (late John) of Marysville. Predeceased by sisters Lourdes Krell (late Peter), Helen Whalen (late Jack), Nora Drummey and late brother & sister-in-laws Eugene, Doris & Norm Purvis, Peter (Mary), Sister Gracia Whalen s.p., Marguerite Patenaude (Marcel). Dear sister-in-law of Eileen Kennelly (late Vince), Rita Farrell (late Fred), Ted McGuinness(late Roselyne), Jack Kenny(late Grace), Margie Whalen(late Michael), Wilma (late Harold). Remembered by many nieces and nephews. Resting at the McGlade Funeral Home, 78 Centre St. Deseronto on Monday February 22nd between the hours of 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Vincent de Paul Church Deseronto on Tuesday, February 23rd at 11:00am. Rite of committal Holy Name of Mary Church cemetery, Marysville.
