Of Deseronto

Retired from the Canadian Armed Forces after 21 years

 

After a long fighting battle with cancer "Bill" passed away surrounded by his family June 22, 2023 at Quinte Hospice, Belleville.  Leaving to mourn his daughter Janet Smith of Belleville, his son Paul Dixon(Sherry)of St John's NL, his grandchildren Stephen Smith of Belleville, Corey Smith (Ashley) of Belleville, Alicia Smith of Belleville, Jeremy Dixon of St John's NL, his great grandchildren, Brooke, Bentley and Chase, step daughters Debbie,  Valerie, Suzanne, Chris, Diane many step grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Predeceased by his beloved wife Marlene Dixon.

Bill was very involved in the community and was a volunteer driver for Community Care for a number of years.  The family would like to say a very special thank to Norman Tucker for all things he did to help our dad and grandpa.   In keeping with Bill’s wishes cremation has taken place.  Family and friends are invited to the Deseronto Legion on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 between the hours of 11:00 – 1:00 p.m.  Legion Service to follow at 1:00 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Quinte Hospice or the Canadian Cancer Society in memory of Bill.
